It includes systematically and efficiently controlling all vehicle functions, monitoring traffic and road conditions, managing vehicle condition and performance and effectively managing hazardous situations.
After successfully completing the Heavy Vehicle Training in Melbourne (Heavy Rigid – Non-Synchro vehicle course), you will be eligible for a VicRoads heavy vehicle licence certificate of competency to drive a heavy rigid vehicle.
Assessment for these units will be undertaken within a licensing examination conducted by, and under the authority of, VicRoads. A written and practical assessment is conducted for each course.

In addition to getting a licence to operate a Heavy Rigid Vehicle in Victoria, following the Heavy Rigid Training in Melbourne, you may upgrade your qualification to be a Nationally Recognised Training. (TLILIC2016 – Licence to drive a heavy rigid vehicle).
If you are undertaking Nationally Recognised Training you will need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) that gives you access to your online USI account that contains all your nationally recognised training records. The main benefit of the USI is that you will have easy access to your training records and results throughout your life.
This is an entry level credential and can be used to contribute to other nationally recognised qualifications in Road Transport.
