Description
Delivery:
2 Day course
- Day 1 - 8 hours (including breaks)
- Day 2 - 8 hours (including breaks)
Delivery Method Face-to-face (theory and practical)
- All course study materials will be issued at the time of booking
- Students are required to complete some pre-reading and complete a workbook before they undertake face-to-face sessions
- Boom-type elevating work platform is provided for this course
Course content:
- Plan and prepare for work tasks
- Select the correct EWP for each job
- Perform routine and pre-operational checks
- Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures
- Operate the elevating work platform safely
- Acts and Regulations which affect how you work
- Using different platform types with a range of fuel/power sources
- Operating Procedures
- Safe Working Practices
- EWP Components and dynamics
- Pre-operational checks
- Identification and avoidance of hazards
- Operator’s duties and responsibilities
- WorkSafe Victoria requirements
- EWP Licence Testing (meets WorkSafe Victoria Requirements).
Learning outcome:
On successful completion of assessments for each component of the course, you will be issued with a Notice of Assessment that acts as a 60-day temporary licence.
This can then be submitted with the other documentation required to WorkSafe to obtain your licence. The licence application and notice of assessment is to be submitted directly to WorkSafe within 60 days in order to obtain a high-risk work licence to operate this plant.
You will also receive a Statement of Attainment for Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) TLILIC2005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more) (WP Licence Class).
Prerequisites and entry requirements:
- Must provide one primary proof of photo ID (Keypass, Passport, Australian Drivers Licence)
- Applicants must be aged 18 years or over
- Applicants must be a resident of Victoria
- Basic English, literacy, numeracy and digital skills at a level sufficient to read and interpret workplace documentation is required to complete the course. You must complete a language, literacy, numeracy and digital assessment as part of the enrolment process
- Must have the physical capacity to undertake the practical training and assessment components
- USI that can be verified to ensure release of Statement of Attainment
- Must bring with you on your first day your completed pre-workbook questions
Overseas students:
If you are on a visa, you must be legally allowed to train without breaching your visa conditions. Any course undertaken by a student visa holder, whether it is a primary course or additional study, must be registered on CRICOS (except for the LF unit – TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck). We are not a CRICOS provider.
Training Pathways:
Qualification pathways: This unit of competency can contribute to Certificate qualifications from the Transport and Logistics Training Package.
Vocational pathways: Obtaining this unit of competency will allow individuals to enter the warehousing or logistics industry and other industries where EWP’s are used
