Description
Delivery:
- Day 1 - 4 hours (including breaks)
- Course study materials will be issued at the time of booking
- Students are required to complete some pre-reading and complete a workbook before they undertake the face to face sessions
- Delivery Method - Face-to-face (theory and practical)
- Elevating work platform is provided
Course Content:
(Scissor Lift/Yellow Card course)
- Acts and Regulations which affect how you work
- Using different types of Elevated Work Platforms under 11 metres with a range of fuel/power sources
- Inspecting the site and the equipment (including pre-start, planning, post-start and post-operational checks)
- Attachments and controls
- Plan and prepare for operating an elevating work platform
- Operate in line with established requirements to complete work activity
- Carry out operator maintenance
- Clean up work area and store equipment and machine
- Safety of other personnel
Learning outcome:
On successful completion of the training, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) RIIHAN301E Operate elevating work platform, along with a plastic wallet card (Yellow Card/Operator card).
Prerequisites and entry requirements:
- Must provide one primary proof of photo ID (Keypass, Passport, Australian Drivers Licence)
- Applicants must be aged 18 years or older
- Basic English literacy, numeracy and digital skills at a level sufficient to read and interpret workplace documentation You must complete a language, literacy, numeracy and digital assessment as part of the enrolment process
- Must have the physical capacity to undertake the practical training and assessment components
- USI that can be verified to ensure release of Statement of Attainment
- Must bring with you on your first day your completed pre-workbook questions
Overseas Students:
If you are on a visa, you must be legally allowed to train without breaching your visa conditions. Any course undertaken by a student visa holder, whether it is a primary course or additional study, must be registered on CRICOS (except for the LF unit – TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck). We are not a CRICOS provider.
Training Pathways:
Qualification pathways: This unit of competency can contribute to Certificate qualifications from the RII Training Package or other plant related units such as TLILIC0005 – Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more).
Vocational pathways: Obtaining this unit of competency will allow individuals to enter the warehousing and logistics industries and commercial sites where elevated platforms (scissor lifts) are used.
